About the Role
The Technical Designer is an integral part of the Interior Architecture team at Sarah Cain Design and plays a vital role in translating design concepts into the technical documentation that brings our projects to life.
Working closely with the Senior Designer and design team, this position focuses on the development of interior architecture, detailed construction drawings, and 3D modeling that support the execution of our high-end residential projects. Our work often includes custom millwork, architectural detailing, and carefully considered spatial planning, requiring a designer who enjoys the precision and problem-solving that comes with technical design.
The Technical Designer helps transform conceptual ideas into clear and highly organized drawing sets that allow builders, fabricators, and trades to execute the design with accuracy and confidence. This role requires both technical discipline and an appreciation for the craftsmanship and detailing that define thoughtfully designed interiors.
This position is ideal for a designer who enjoys the technical craft of interior design—someone who takes pride in developing well-organized documentation, refining architectural details, and contributing to the successful execution of highly customized residential environments.
Candidates should have strong proficiency in Revit, experience preparing construction documentation, and a working knowledge of residential construction practices and building codes.
This position requires availability to work full-time (32–40 hours per week) in our Gainesville, Florida studio.
