Natalie Cecil

Natalie is the current Interior Design Intern at SCD, having joined the team in May 2026. A double Gator, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from the University of Florida in 2021, and worked as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) before deciding to pursue a career in interior design.

Born and raised in Florida, Natalie moved to Gainesville in 2017 with her twin sister Nicole. Natalie credits Nicole with giving her the courage to make the leap-of-faith decision to apply to the Master of Interior Design (MID) program, where she is currently a student. She started the program in Fall 2024 and will begin her final year this coming Fall semester. Her thesis aims to address how an adaptive reuse project can be utilized as a tool to promote social sustainability within a target community, specifically in the city of Gainesville.

She enjoys all stages of a project, from creating a strong concept/narrative, to space planning and problem solving, to color and material selection. With two years of schooling under her belt, she has gained valuable experience with modeling and rendering programs, and is looking forward to learning more. She is excited to share her passion and skills with the SCD team.

In her free time she loves to spend time with her family and dogs, play trivia or board games with her friends, and rock climbing.
